Anxiety Therapy

We offer therapy services for people with anxiety.

Many of our patients come to therapy to find relief from anxiety.

Anxiety can present differently for each person. Sometimes anxiety makes people procrastinate and avoid. Others find that their anxiety motivates them, and they become fixated on goals or achievement in order to mitigate the anxiety of having to get something done. Anxiety can also overwhelm people. Some people have social anxiety, and find that they avoid various settings due to their social anxiety. Other people may have social anxiety, but it makes them engage with others more intently and makes them become hypervigilant towards taking the temperature in the room.

When you come to our practice for anxiety, we explore how your anxiety is coming up for you. Are you very worried about the future, but you are productive in your day to day life? Do you not have stress thinking about the future, yet in your day to day life you struggle to complete necessary tasks?

We will also explore together any other behaviors you may have that are trying to mitigate your anxiety. This is unique to each person. Maybe you come home to your partner or roommate and download your full work day, though you notice that they are at a capacity to what they can listen to. Maybe you are using coping behaviors that can also feel out of your control, or make you feel shame after you do them. We will be curious together about the sources and form of your anxiety, what you are doing to help solve it that may no longer be working for you, and discovering new ways of working with your anxiety moving forward.
